“Vienna must not become Clausnitz and Bautzen”

Against the racist Pegida march of the FPÖFPÖ is planning a racist march against a refugee housing center, which is currently in planning in the Ziedlergasse in Vienna Liesing on Monday, 14 March. It is usually the same day of the Pegida marches in Dresden. Presidential candidate Norbert Hofer, Johann Gudenus and FPÖ leader Heinz-Christian Strache will be participating. The FPÖ Liesing has already made threats, “What the people of Dresden have pulled off, we will, if necessary, manage to pull off as well.”

We invite all antiracist and solidarity initiatives and individuals to make a stand against the racist agitators by creating a protective chain of people in front of the refugee housing center. Let us come together and show that there are way more people fighting for solidarity and tolerance and who also warmly welcome all refugees.

In Germany the number of attacks against refugee housing centers has multiplied by five in 2015. The refugee housing center in the Ziedlergasse has also already been befouled with racist slurs. In March the first guests are meant to move in the center. We will not stand by as a discriminating and racist atmosphere starts to gain ground. We will not stand by as people, who have come here in search for safety, are threatened.
