Bereits 2015 wählten die Wiener_innen mit insgesamt 59 Prozent mehrheitlich Menschlichkeit und Solidarität. In der Wahl am Sonntag konnte diese solide Mehrheit auf 68 Prozent ausgebaut werden!

Vor der Wahl positionierten sich SPÖ, Die Grünen, NEOS, LINKS und SÖZ für die Aufnahme von Geflüchteten in Wien.

Jene Parteien, die Wahlkampf gegen die Aufnahme von Schutzbedürftigen betrieben, wurden insgesamt abgestraft. Ihr Stimmenanteil brach von 40 Prozent im Jahr 2015 auf 30 Prozent ein.

Aktivist_innen und Initiativen in der Plattform für eine menschliche Asylpolitik haben mit zahlreichen fantastischen Protesten und Veranstaltungen in den letzten fünf Jahren maßgeblichen Anteil an diesem grandiosem Erfolg!

Der Bundeskanzler muss seine menschenverachtende Haltung aufgeben. Die Menschen haben Rassismus eine klare Absage erteilt und verlangen die Aufnahme von Menschen in Not. Wir sind bereit dazu. Wir haben Platz!

Majority against racism expanded! Vienna chooses to receive refugees!

Already in 2015 the majority of the Viennese voted for humanity and solidarity with a total of 59 percent. In the municipality elections on Sunday this solid majority was increased to 68 percent!

Before the election SPÖ, Die Grünen, NEOS, LINKS and SÖZ positioned themselves for receiving refugees in Vienna.

Those parties that campaigned against taking refugees in (ÖVP, FPÖ and Heinz-Christian Strache) were punished in total. Their share of the vote collapsed from 40 percent in 2015 to 30 percent.

Activists and initiatives in the Platform for a Human Asylum Policy have played a significant role in this terrific success with numerous fantastic protests and events in the last five years!

The Federal Chancellor must abandon his inhuman attitude. The people have clearly rejected racism and demand taking in people in need. We are ready for this. We have rooms!
